Currently, 1.3 million people die each year from the consequences of air pollution. This figure will continue to rise in the near future, for the amount of respirable dust particles is increasing steadily. Scientists simulated the distribution of these particles for the year 2050. They show what is in store for humanity in the coming years if we don’t drastically reduce anthropogenic emissions.
